WHY GIVE TO OLMA?
As in most private schools, the tuition charged per student is less than the actual cost of educating each student. Here at Mercy the actual cost of educating each student is $11,000. There is a gap of almost $4,000 per student each year. In essence each “Mercy girl” is receiving a $4,000 “silent scholarship!”
Five years ago, Our Lady of Mercy Academy embarked on an annual appeal program named “The Circle of Mercy Annual Fund.” Over the course of the past five years, this fund raised over $750,000 and is on its way to a million. The proceeds of this fund are used for general operating purposes, investments and scholarships along with the proceeds from Our Lady of Mercy Academy’s Special Events.
Our Lady of Mercy Academy is wholly dedicated to the education of young women. In today’s world, women need to be self-assured, self- motivated and self-sufficient. “Each student is challenged to develop her God-given gifts thus empowering her to become an authentic witness of Mercy in the global community of the 21st century.” (Mission Statement of Our Lady of Mercy Academy)

Support Mercy Special Events
You may do so by becoming a sponsor, attending the event, donating a raffle prize and/or volunteering to work on a committee. You also help build the “Spirit of Mercy” by becoming involved in these events.
Securities
Gifts of stocks, bonds, mutual funds or securities can prove to be the most beneficial way to lend your financial support. They offer the donor an income tax deduction for the charitable gift and the avoidance of the capital gains tax that would be realized when the securities are sold.
Matching Gifts
If your company has a Matching Gift Program, be sure to submit the paperwork with your donation. The Office of Mission Effectiveness will do the follow up required.
Memorials
You can honor the memory of a loved one in support of the academic future of thousands of young women.
Tributary Gifts
A donation can be made to commemorate special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries or graduations. The person being honored will receive a letter informing them of your gift. The amount of your donation is not indicated in the letter.
Bequests
A bequest in a will is another way of contributing to OLMA. Bequests meet the needs of many donors because they provide the school with a percentage of the estate that remains after payments have been make to heirs.
