Computers. The Internet and World Wide Web. Cell phones. Television. CD & DVD players. Can you imagine what your life would be like without these inventions? And think about how much we have benefited from technology that allows us to travel thousands of miles in just a few hours, predict earthquakes and storms, gaze at images of Venus and Jupiter, take X-ray pictures of the human body and communicate instantly with someone on the other side of the world.

The people who gave us these innovations include engineers and computer scientists who use their knowledge and imagination to solve problems, expand possibilities, and help humanity.

At Our Lady of Mercy Academy, our students learn, invent and explore all the many possibilities and challenges of the new computer age. Our students learn essential skills that will help them in any career.

In the Freshman year, students learn the computer inside and out. They will learn different types of hardware and software. They learn about computer and internet security, virus protection and how to stop cyberbullying. They also learn proper internet research techniques, how to tell a reliable site from a unreliable site. They use MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint to create research papers and presentations.

In Junior and Senior year, students are given the option of taking Advanced Computer courses, emphasizing Advanced MS Office, Computer Graphics, Web Design, Animation and Photostory music videos.
